The Difference Between Cleaning, Sanitizing and Disinfecting

cleaning-terms

These 3 terms are sometimes used interchangeably, but there fundamental, easy to understand differences.

Cleaning is the removal of visible debris, dirt and dust from a surface.

Sanitizing is the killing/reducing of 99.9% of surface bacteria, but not necessarily viruses or fungi.

Disinfecting is the killing of all surface pathogens (bacteria, viruses and fungi).

Here at EnviroClean we use proven, EPA registered, ph neutral products for all our cleaning, sanitizing and disinfecting. They include many green third-party certifications including Green Seal, EcoLogo, CRI, NSF and USDA Biopreferred.

We provide the safest, healthiest and most effective cleaning services for home, office and industry.
